Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance? No. At this time, we are not accepting insurance for our standard visits and treatments. If you have insurance, we do put it on file in the event that we need to order labs and diagnostics or place a referral to a specialist who would utilize insurance.
Can you order blood work, imaging, and referrals?Yes! While we do not draw bloodwork in our clinic, we can place necessary lab orders for you to take to a local facility to have drawn. Results will be transmitted back to us, and we will call you with results. The same is true for diagnostics like x-rays, ultrasounds, or CT scans. Additionally, we can place referrals for specialized follow-up care, if needed. And good news! The above services when performed at outside facilities can be covered by your insurance.
Can I schedule an appointment?
Yes! You can call our office or schedule an appointment online. Scheduling an appointment will help to reduce paperwork to be done when you arrive and your overall wait time.
Can I be evaluated for concerns like chest pain?
We do not recommend coming to BHC for emergent complaints, like chest pain. We do not currently have the ability to run an EKG or obtain labs with immediate results, and these are often vital for evaluating and managing concerns like chest pain, stroke-like symptoms, or severe abdominal pain. If you unsure about whether your symptoms can be evaluated by us, do not hesitate to give us a call prior to coming.
Can I follow-up with you for medication refills? While we do plan to provide full primary care services in the future, we do not currently provide this service. We can be utilized for emergency refills when unable to see your usual provider, however we recommend being established with a primary care provider if you take daily medications requiring monthly refills.
Can I be seen by your practice if I have Medicare or Medicaid? If you are a Medicare beneficiary, you cannot pay cash for a Medicare-covered service. To ensure we are following Medicare billing rules, we will require patients to sign a form stating that they do not have Medicare upon arriving at the clinic.
If you are a Medicaid beneficiary, you can pay cash to be seen at BHC. However, you will be required to sign an acknowledgement form stating that you understand your visit will not be billed to Medicaid and that you are responsible for the full fee.
